Wellness Wednesday: Hydration
Hydration, definition “the act or process of combining or treating with water.” Water and everything consumed containing water (which is most foods) have the power to heal. Healing ensures we perform all essential functions at the highest capacity. There is no “set” amount of water that is best for every adult due to age, activity, and other factors however, a good starting point is 8 cups or half gallon a day. An easy way to increase personal accountability is to purchase a water bottle and set a daily water intake goal. Ask yourself how many “bottles” you would like to finish before the end of the day.
This past Monday, we provided students with fresh agua frescas, sugar-free seltzer water, and water bottles to promote healthy hydration. Be sure to stop by our monthly health and wellness tables for helpful tips on hydration and other related nutritional information.
